Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee training and implementation of new systems and technology with the Development Team.

Typical Schedule: Primarily M-F Days. Hybrid work available. Must occasionally be willing and able to work flexible hours/days, including evenings and weekends, reflective of the dynamic schedule of the organization.

Position Summary

The Development Systems Administrator manages the critical fundraising systems and key operations support activities for development. Serves as the organization’s key subject matter expert on the development technology ecosystem and ensures varying systems and vendor products interact optimally and that development processes are optimally supported across platforms. In addition, this role works closely with leadership and development staff to respond to information requests and generates meaningful reports and analysis to support fundraising programs and data driven decision making.

The Analyst is also responsible for curating a robust prospect development program capable of fully supporting fundraising activities at Hammer, including standard prospect research and moves management functions. All employees are expected to center, model and champion Hammer’s core values:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use required technology to maintain daily, monthly, and annual required documentation as scheduled.
  • Serve as the organization’s primary subject matter expert for the Raiser’s Edge (RE NXT) database and participate as a member of the development team to provide expertise regarding all fundraising related systems, data, and reporting solutions.
  • Oversee the organization’s fundraising platforms and work closely with senior leadership to develop solutions to fully leverage and optimize the development technology ecosystem to meet short- and long-term objectives of the development department.
  • Serve as the primary resource for development reporting needs. This role is responsible for the timely fulfillment of requests from end-users for reports and list pulls, as well as the maintenance of existing reports.
  • Develop, maintain, and document the procedures and processes associated with the organization’s fundraising platforms, data integrity protocols, and prospect development practices.
  • Establish strategies and plans for the maintenance, use, support, and development of fundraising information systems. These will include new technologies and systems that will directly benefit the users and programs of the development department.
  • Develop and implement a robust system of prospect development in support of principal and major gift fundraising, while ensuring that the fundraising platform is fully leveraged in support of this area.
  • Work with Information Technology staff to ensure that appropriate information is shared among administrative systems in compliance with industry practices and institutional policy.
  • Policy and Procedures Implementation
  • Enact standard protocols to improve and maintain high standards of data integrity and ensure accuracy of all information entered and that best practices and procedures are adhered to.
  • Develop, maintain, and document the procedures and processes associated with the organization’s fundraising platforms, data integrity protocols, and prospect development practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure that core operations policies, procedures, and documentation are adequately developed and maintained to support the needs of the development department.
  • Perform standard and proactive prospect research activities and ensure that prospect strategies are well defined, a healthy prospect pipeline exists, and prospect development information is distributed to staff in a manner that facilitates fundraising activities.
