Position Summary: Bongards Premium Cheese is looking for a dedicated quality professional to serve as a Quality Control technician on Second Shift at our Norwood, MN location. This is a Second Shift position working from 1 pm to 10 pm and scheduled to work Wednesday through Sunday each week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform hourly checks on production lines to ensure that all food quality and food safety processes are being followed.
  • Ensure that all quality and food safety control points are functioning as designed.
  • Perform visual and analytical inspections on finished product to ensure it meets specifications including lab testing on moisture, fat, salt and color.
  • Operation, calibration and maintenance of lab testing equipment.
  • Perform any preoperational inspections required prior to production line start up.
  • Continuously monitor GMPs to ensure quality and safety of finished products.
  • Perform any environmental or equipment sampling as directed.
  • Perform inspections on specified incoming ingredients.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all inspections, testing and examination as required to ensure product quality and safety.
  • All employees are responsible for food safety and personnel safety and have a duty to report any issues or concerns.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Detail orientated and able to learn and perform lab testing processes in accordance with established processes.
  • Must possess the ability to analyze lab results to identify trends or deviations.
  • Must have a working knowledge of various software programs including word, excel, outlook and quality monitoring applications.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, able to interact with employees at all levels to ensure food safety and quality.

Working Conditions:

  • Office in a food manufacturing environment, some office setting.
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing and typing on a computer is required.
  • Light lifting may be required, up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as business needs require.
