Support production operations by performing low to moderate machining operations on mills, drill presses, lathes, etc.

• The primary responsibility of a CNC Machinist is to support production operations by performing low to moderate machining operations, operating one or more types of machine tools such as mills, drill presses, lathes, etc.
• Sets up basic tooling and writes and executes basic programs.
• Sets up, operates and programs a broad range of production work involving close tolerance and precise set ups that are somewhat involved and have a low to moderate degree of difficulty.
• Reads and interprets specific machining instructions from blueprints, part and machine drawings.

  Job Duties:
  • Performs other secondary operations such as stamping part numbers and deburring during machine cycle times.
  • Performs routine maintenance.
  • Assists in other areas and performs additional tasks as needed.
  • Participates in and contributes to Massman’s lean manufacturing journey.
  • Inspects machine parts to ensure they meet proper size, shape, or tolerance specs using micrometers and other measuring tools and devices.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical Degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred.

• Able to problem solving, good mechanical aptitude, and able to learn and understand job methods and instructions in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes preferred.

• 2-3 years of relevant machining experience can be substituted for Technical Degree.

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
