Head of Operations - Rotor Blade Retrofit Campaign

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations / Senior Project Manager to lead a large‑scale Rotor Blade Retrofit Campaign in Finland. This role requires strong operational leadership, excellent coordination skills, and deep experience managing complex, multi‑stream field operations within the wind energy sector.

You will oversee the full operational lifecycle of the retrofit campaign, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution while managing on‑site logistics, resources, and reporting across all core project disciplines.

• Lead and manage the full rotor blade retrofit operation across a large onshore wind farm.
• Coordinate multiple work streams including blade transport, crane operations, retrofit teams, and installation activities.
• Ensure consistent availability of exchange blades to avoid crane downtime and maintain operational continuity.

• Oversee in‑bound logistics
  , including timely use, consumption, and delivery of direct materials as well as spare‑parts availability.
• Direct out‑bound logistics
  , ensuring correct disposition and documentation of blade sets.
• Assess risks related to material quality and delivery accuracy based on supplier input.

• Identify opportunities for operational improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings across the campaign.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with suppliers and on‑site teams.
• Ensure technical standards, processes, and best practices are adhered to throughout the operation.

• Manage on‑site infrastructure, welfare facilities, and workspace conditions.
• Oversee Health & Safety compliance, including SSD, environmental standards, and waste handling throughout the campaign.
• Ensure all activities meet regulatory and industry safety requirements.

• Provide structured reporting across key project metrics:
  • Time & progress tracking
  • Cost reporting
    , including individual workstream expenses and variances
  • Quality reporting
    , including deviations and due‑diligence outcomes
• Escalate risks, delays, or deviations and work with stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.

• Proven track record as Head of Operations
  , Senior Project Manager
  , or Site Operations Manager in the wind energy sector.
• Strong understanding of blade retrofit
  , heavy‑lift operations, and on‑site logistics.
• Experience managing crane schedules
  , blade exchange programs
  , and multi‑disciplinary site teams
  .
• Solid background in HSE compliance
  , including waste management and on‑site safety systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead improvements, manage costs, and maintain high‑quality standards.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder‑management skills.
