Position SummaryValley View Manor is seeking a dependable and experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance, safety, and overall physical plant operations of our long‑term care community in Lamberton, Minnesota. This role is responsible for ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, and compliant with state and federal regulations while providing a comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
The Maintenance Director will lead all maintenance activities, manage preventative maintenance programs, and coordinate repairs, inspections, and facility improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily maintenance operations of the facility, including building systems, grounds, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to healthcare facility maintenance and safety.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and address repair needs promptly.
- Manage work orders and maintenance requests from staff and departments.
- Oversee life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency generators, and safety drills.
- Coordinate and supervise outside contractors and service providers.
- Maintain documentation for inspections, maintenance logs, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage maintenance budgets and order necessary supplies and equipment.
- Ensure the grounds, parking areas, and building exterior are maintained and safe year‑round.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and facility safety initiatives.
- Previous maintenance leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, long‑term care, or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Experience with life safety codes and regulatory compliance in healthcare settings is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform hands‑on repairs when needed.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of Minnesota Department of Health regulations related to long‑term care facilities.
- Certification in boiler operation, HVAC, or facilities management is a plus.
