Seasonal Wastewater Laborer

Seasonal Wastewater Laborers will perform numerous duties as assigned to support the Public Works department.

• Operates equipment including but not limited to dump trucks, mowers, small tractors, hand/mechanical tools and equipment, etc.
• Performs duties relating to street repairs.
• Performs duties related to maintenance of public grounds including but not limited to mowing, tree/shrub/flower maintenance, and weed control.
• Performs maintenance/construction tasks including but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, and mechanical.
• Performs duties including, but not limited to sign replacement and repair, placement of traffic control devices, tree/shrub/flower planting/trimming/removal, janitorial, compacting materials with hand or mechanical equipment, cleans and maintains City property and other related duties.
• Performs storm sewer structure maintenance functions as assigned.
• Performs collection system maintenance as assigned.
• Proper and safe use and maintenance of any assigned City vehicle, equipment, property, etc. Observes and practices safe work habits. Attends and maintains all division training and safety requirements to be legal, safe, and compliant with laws and regulations.
• Effectively coordinates activities with other public works staff. Actively participate and promote all activities, duties, meetings, training sessions, etc. as a team member.
• Assists City departments, divisions, and outside agencies as directed. Functions as a team member with all City employees, and effectively interacts with all levels of City personnel.
• Represents the department to civic and other organizations, including a positive promotion of the department.
• Follows and disseminates all orders and instructions of the Utilities Supervisor and and Utilities Manager.
• Complies with all legal requirements of the job. Adhere to all City and utility division policies and procedures and requirements.
  
  High school diploma or equivalent. An excellent driving record. Ability to perform light to heavy physical labor, lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently. Previous experience performing physical labor.
  
  Position will require flexibility in future scheduling to include all hours at the employers’ discretion for appropriate coverage and efficiency. Must work overtime as assigned; may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, including holidays for special event coverage, weather conditions and emergency situations. Timely reporting to work with a minimum of absences.
