Pool Technician

Location: Welch

Pay Rate: $19.00 an hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Perform chemical balancing and water testing on a daily basis

* Clean pool filters, strainers and deck areas

* Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of duties performed

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

- Required:

* High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience

* 2 years technical experience maintaining public pools

* State of Minnesota Certified Pool Operators Certificate

Skills

- Required:

* Accurate and detail-oriented

* Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

* Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

* Strong mechanical aptitude

- Required:

* Ability to work fast and efficiently

* Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene

* Ability to learn appropriate chemical usage and proper equipment usage

* Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner

* Ability to serve both internal and external customers

* Ability to troubleshoot, maintain and repair specialized equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Must be able to walk and / or stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours

* Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel and stoop

* Must be able to reach and twist routinely

* Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely

* Must be able to climb a 8 ft. ladder

* Must have the ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally

* Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions

* Must be able to navigate stairs routinely

* Must have good eye hand coordination

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

* Work is performed in the aquatic center and may include excessive noise, flashing lights, frequent loud noises and fumes (such as cigarette smoke and chemicals)

* Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters

* Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays

* High volume direct public contact

* Must handle chemicals and other pool maintenance-related materials
