The Housekeeping Team member is a key member of the Trout team and an essential part of Trout Lake Camps’
ministry. At Trout our core beliefs dictate how we serve and minister to others be it campers, parents, volunteers, interns, summer and year-round staff. This is a full-time ministry position, in which our heart, commitment, and attitude of reflecting Jesus should be evident to everyone as we communicate the essence of the Gospel.
This person assists the Housekeeping Manager in the completion of all housekeeping leaning functions at Trout.
Safe, Fun, Gospel is the foundation of the Trout experience. The Housekeeping Team member directly
accountable to the Housekeeping Manager.
While the Housekeeping Team member is accountable to the Housekeeping Manager, there are times when the
Operations Director, a Site Director, and Executive Director may provide direction. To be successful, this position must coordinate their efforts with all other departments.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:Year Round
- Assisting in cleaning all facilities before the arrival of guests. This includes the following:
- All lodging areas (all Cabins, Shalom, The Cottage, and Staff Housing)
- Restroom facilities
- Meeting areas
- Trash removal (non-construction)
- Utilizing Asana for daily information regarding guest groups.
- Assisting in any routine or specific maintenance on facilities (lights, doorknobs, furniture, door screens, windows, heating systems, etc.).
- Assisting in the set-up of facilities and equipment as requested and ensure that everything is safe and functional.
- Assisting in teaching all assigned staff how to properly clean to a high standard of clean.
- Driving bus for guest groups around Trout property as scheduled.
- Following applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Assisting in supervising cleaning crews.
- Assisting with routine maintenance (lights, doorknobs, etc.)
- Hosting or assisting hosts as assigned.
- Assisting in checking all assigned facilities prior to the start of each camp week.
- Helping to supervise summer staff, Dteam staff, and volunteers assigned to this department.
- Coordinating schedule with Housekeeping Manager.
Job Duties
- Minister to fellow staff, summer staff, Dteam, volunteers, campers and guests according to our beliefsfounded in God’s word.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Building and maintaining relationships with past and present Trout staff.
- Working weekends and other irregular hours as deemed necessary
- Being on call for emergencies as assigned.
- Accurately recording hours worked in Buddy Punch or other time recording software.
- Attending all departmental daily and weekly staff meetings as scheduled.
- Attending all organizational staff meetings as assigned.
- A minimum of two years of experience in Christian camping or a housekeeping or maintenance position
- Knowledge of general facilities and equipment maintenance.
- Highly organized, flexible individual with experience in multi-tasking, creative thinking, problem solving,and teamwork.
- Basic Computer skills and knowledge.
- Organizational and communication skills.
- Able to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with other camp departments.
- Shall exhibit the qualities of a “self-starter,” not relying on outside influences for motivation.
- Preferred:
First Aid Certified, CPR Certified. - Preferred:
Class B- CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
- Individual must be in agreement with the Converge North Central Statement of Belief.

- As a member of Trout’s ministry staff, you may be assigned to a different role than the one you were hired for. At all times, no matter what you are given to do, Cabin Buddy, Skills Class Instructor, lead a group of
- Dteamers or a group of campers, etc., you are expected to act in accordance with Trout’s ministry principles.
- The employee will represent Converge North Central and Trout Lake Camps in a positive light in all conversations, both on and off the job, to guests, volunteers, and fellow employees.
