This position requires travel to Gaylord, Le Sueur, and Winthrop Clinic locations as needed for staffing support.
Purpose of JobThis position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care related activities including assisting the providers. Duties include performing a variety of patient care activities including rooming patients, administration of medications and vaccines, specimen collection for diagnostic labs, completing prior authorizations for medication and diagnostic procedures, and patient care coordination.
When performing nursing support functions
- Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing
- Current LPN Licensure or current Medical Assistant
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing
- Graduate of clinical laboratory program and/or ability to display and complete job competencies
- Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Assistant (RMA) (LPNs/MAs will have 1 year to become certified in order to maintain employment)
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team

- EMR experience
- Previous nursing / medical assistant experience
