Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
Summary
Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows SOPs and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other healthcare personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science required.
- National certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved HHS agency (e.g., ASCP) or be registry eligible.
- Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
- If working in North Dakota, must be licensed or have a provisional license by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
- Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
