Job Summary
Clinical Trainees provide diagnostic assessments, therapeutic services, and skills-based interventions to children, adults, and families. Working under the license of a qualified mental health professional, Clinical Trainees support clients with mental health concerns to improve functioning. This role includes direct client services and active participation in clinical supervision to meet licensure requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Clinical Trainees do not provide direct supervision to other employees. They are expected to collaborate and coordinate with Fernbrook Family Center team members who share clients or caseload responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy and/or skills-based services to children, adults, families, and groups in a school setting at Mora schools.
- Meet required productivity benchmarks for client services and weekly billable expectations.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments to determine eligibility for services.
- Complete documentation in accordance with established content, quality, and timeliness standards.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Fernbrook staff and external service providers.
- Seek supervisory guidance and consultation as needed.
- Complete mandatory trainings for skill maintenance or enhancement.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings to support professional development.
- Attend and actively engage in individual and/or group Clinical Trainee supervision in accordance with the clinical supervision plan.
- Complete 30 hours of continuing education related to mental health every two years, and any additional hours required by the licensing board.
- Uphold and communicate Fernbrook Family Center’s mission internally and externally.
- Follow all agency policies and procedures.
- Meet productivity standards related to client contact; attend mandatory program meetings and supervision; complete required paperwork; and travel between client sessions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
- Extended periods of sitting, listening, observing, or using a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- Flexible work hours, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Regular travel to client homes, community settings, Fernbrook offices, and off-site locations where clients may be placed.
- Salaried employees typically work 40–43 hours per week; additional hours may be required to meet client and program needs.
- Hourly employees may work up to 40 hours per week; overtime must be pre-approved by a supervisor.
Education and Experience
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required for positions involving community-based client contact.
- Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with agency and Department of Human Services requirements.
- Master’s degree completed or in progress, with current field placement at Fernbrook Family Center, in a discipline qualifying for one of the following licenses: LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children, adults, and families.
- Bilingual abilities.
