• Pay Range: $20.69–$28.96 (actual pay depends on experience, education, certification & internal equity.)

• Transcribe or edit medical dictation for physicians and other healthcare professionals using correct medical terminology, spelling, and punctuation.
• Analyze medical records for documentation deficiencies and inaccuracies, including imaging reports.
• Release protected health information to authorized requestors.
• Abstract and compile data for quality measures, risk management, and other reporting purposes.
• Complete birth registration according to Minnesota Department of Vital Statistics guidelines.
• Assist utilization review in admission authorization and certification of hospital services.
• Extract data from the electronic record system for quality measures, registries, and statistical reports.
• Perform various clerical and administrative functions as requested by Nursing, Medical Staff, and other departments.

• Experience in a medical secretary program (preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, procedures, medications, and laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of medical records procedures and practices.
• Competency with transcribing equipment and software.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in team environments.
• High self‑motivation.
