Radiology Technologist (Casual)

Radiology Technologist (Casual) role at Johnson Memorial Health Services.

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist performs radiologic studies to provide information for the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • N/A
Responsibilities
  • Using proper radiation protection and precautions, prepares and operates radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable equipment.
  • Positions patients to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures.
  • Operates film processing equipment.
  • Maintains computerized records, files, and/or reports.
  • Participates in quality control and quality assurance studies.
  • Assists the supervising radiologist with administrative functions.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Core Competencies
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of x-ray technology.
  • Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for record‑keeping purposes.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Incumbents must be able to work stand‑by and call‑back duty and respond to a call within 30 minutes.
Education/Experience/Licensure
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Possession of a CPR certification required.
  • One year of experience desirable.
  • Ability to speak in English and Spanish highly desirable.
Working Environment
  • Prolonged periods standing, reaching and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations.
