Responsible for designing and reviewing new products. Provide technical support for the design and testing of new products and conduct research of new materials.

- Creates designs and layout drawings using 3D modeling software as required for purposes of checking dimensional requirements and for review of aesthetics.
- Conducts research and testing of new materials.
- Creates detailed drawings and bills of materials as required for prototype and production build requirements.
- Ensures projects meet established timelines.
- Interfaces with suppliers and manufacturing engineering to assure designs meet objectives for costs and manufacturability.
- Directs project related tasks and facilitates product reviews.
- Work effectively with cross‑departmental teams.
- Proficient in design utilizing all LSI materials and processes (fab/weld, rotational molding, permalene, etc.)
- Direct prototyping activities for new designs.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
- Act as SME for design tools and methods.
- Collaborate with ME team to improve manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Ability to provide input and design assistance to other departments and/or business units.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver projects with large designs incorporating multiple materials and processes.
- Ability to perform engineering related tasks.
- Ability to effectively lead and direct cross functional teams.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical fundamentals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and be resourceful when working to find the best solution.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and be detail orientated.
- Proficient with the use of Solid Works or other 3D solid modeling CAD software.
- Ability to use standard office software such as MS Word and Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience designing products preferred.
The starting target salary range is $97,000 - $121,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. The posted pay range reflects the expected compensation for a fully qualified candidate. Starting pay may be above or below this range based on job‑related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and training needs.
In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for a profit‑sharing opportunity.
