Job Title: R&D Test Engineer / R&D Test Technician (Contract)

Job Description

We are seeking a hands‑on R&D Test Engineer / R&D Test Technician to support testing and development activities for medical device products. This role involves executing test methods, collecting accurate data, providing feedback to refine procedures, and assisting engineering teams with prototyping and test setups. The ideal candidate has experience in product or DV&V testing and is comfortable working in a lab environment with a variety of measurement tools.

Responsibilities
  • Execute test methods and protocols for R&D and DV&V activities.
  • Evaluate test methods and products, offering clear feedback to improve clarity, repeatability, and usability.
  • Perform hands‑on testing using established procedures, quality system guidelines, and lab best practices.
  • Record and organize test data accurately; assist in drafting or completing test reports and summaries.
  • Provide prototyping and manufacturing support, including test fixture setup, basic assembly tasks, and troubleshooting.
  • Operate and maintain basic lab and electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and measurement tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and ensure test readiness.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, documentation requirements, and applicable regulations.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in product testing or DV&V, ideally within a medical device or regulated environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute test methods accurately.
  • Familiarity with basic lab equipment and standard testing tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience refining or developing test methods.
  • Experience writing formal test reports or technical documentation.
  • Basic understanding of structured troubleshooting or root‑cause analysis tools.
  • Preferred:
    Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, calipers, micrometers, or other precision measurement tools.
  • Exposure to basic data acquisition systems or test fixtures.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related) for Engineer pathway;
    Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent hands‑on laboratory experience for Technician pathway.
Work Environment

This position is onsite with working hours approximately from 9 AM to 5 PM. The dress code is casual attire. The role is set in a fast‑paced, hands‑on R&D environment where candidates are expected to be organized, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision once trained.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Blaine, MN.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $35.00/hr.
