Position: Engineer I

POSITION SUMMARY

This hands‑on position will work between Engineering/Design and Production to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and design intent for the projects. This includes being responsible for designing and detailing parts, components and/or complete mechanical or hydraulic assemblies, weldments, formed and fabricated components and may also focus on electrical assemblies. This position will also be responsible for product reliability, safety, continuous improvement, and quality, for product developed.

ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Creating large-scale assembly and fabrication drawings using computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
  • Creating machined, formed and fabricated component drawings
  • Perform daily review of production to ensure all "As Builds" are properly captured and documented
  • Participate in continuous improvement of our product through the ECR process and other activities
  • May focus on creating electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic schematics and systems
  • Creating and maintaining bills of materials
  • Analyzing engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts
  • Conferring with engineering personnel and preparing design modifications as required
  • Evaluating basic design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Performing special projects as assigned
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is a plus
  • Proficiency in Solid Works will be required with 3D modeling
  • Proven proficiency with MS Office suite, Conisio, Draftsight 2D, JD Edwards, 2BB
  • Mechanical aptitude and some material specification abilities
  • Creativity, initiative, detail-oriented, results-focused
  • Personal motivation for success
  • Regular contact with all levels of personnel throughout the organization
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET)
  • 0-2 years related design experience (preferably in manufacturing environment)
LANGUAGE SKILLS

The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee must have excellent written and oral communication skills. This includes being able to read and write instructions, correspondence, letters, and memos, and to converse with staff, co‑workers, and vendors in a professional manner.

The ability to professionally and comfortably interact with all levels of personnel (including shop, management, supervisory, etc.) is vital. The employee will work closely with personnel in the Engineering Department to ensure accuracy of work and problem resolution related to component and product designs enemigos.
