Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Staking Technician, located in Glencoe, MN. The Staking Technician will be responsible for designing, preparing, and staking electrical distribution systems in accordance with cooperative standards. Daily tasks include conducting field inspections, preparing work orders, calculating electrical loads, and maintaining accurate records. The technician will collaborate with cross-department teams, coordinate with members regarding construction projects, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes.
Qualifications- Proficiency in technical skills including drafting, interpretation of maps and blueprints.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to calculate electrical loads and generate technical reports
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work closely with members, contractors, and internal teams
- Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and other industry standards; understanding of electrical distribution systems is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions
- Associate degree in electrical engineering, utility technology, or a related field is preferred; relevant work experience may be considered
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality workmanship
