Parent Educator
A. BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Community Education, an Early Childhood Parent Educator supports families with young children by providing parenting education, promoting healthy child development, and conducting home visits or group sessions using evidence-based practices. They assess family needs, offer developmental guidance, connect families to community resources, and maintain accurate documentation. The role emphasizes building respectful, culturally responsive relationships and collaborating with team members and community partners.
B.SOFTWARE TOOLS USED IN POSITION:
The following software tools are used extensively at a high level in the position:
Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, copier.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Works in a school building environment. Prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending and reaching, occasional lifting of materials or student supplies, manual dexterity for writing on boards or using technology, clear vision and hearing to monitor students, and the ability to move around a classroom to engage with students, sometimes requiring quick movements to respond to situations.
