If you are a recent college graduate with a theological background and a heart for discipleship, this is your chance to shape the faith journeys of students in grades 6–12 through dynamic weekly worship, creative social media engagement, and a thriving small-group model.
You won’t just be behind a desk; you’ll be on the front lines—coaching leaders, designing visual content, and building a vibrant community where every teenager feels they belong. The Coordinator of Student Ministry provides support for student ministry programs. This ministry-minded and relationally-driven position is responsible for contributing to and implementing ministry programs for students in grades 6–12. This role requires relational skills, a heart for students, and a genuine desire to help students find their place within the life of the church.
- Participate in the planning and execution of weekly student worship services
- Participate in the planning and execution of fellowship and faith formation events
- Build and develop volunteer teams and student leaders
- Serve as a key communicator for student ministry
- Guide creation of visual and creative elements
- Support social media campaigns and engagement
- Bachelor’s degree with a theological focus
- Experience as a small group leader
- Organization and planning skills
- Writing and communication skills
- Proficient with technology, specifically Google Workspace, Canva, and Church Community Builder
- Moving and carrying items of up to 30 pounds
- Working at a desk with a keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time
The person in this position should demonstrate a relationship with Jesus Christ and have clear alignment with the Shepherd of the Valley statement of faith found rch/about/mission-beliefs. This person must have a passion for the small group model of discipleship for students and have gifts in relationship building, coaching, and encouragement. This position requires work on holidays, nights, and weekends.
