Winter blues? Escape the cold and plan to spend the summer on the lake with us and aspiring skiers! Camp Lake Hubert for Girls is a “skill-based” camp; we use that term to describe the activity experience. Campers work toward skill development in chosen areas. As campers learn activity skills from positive role models — that’s you! — they also practice social skills, community living, and group communication.

The opportunity to influence youth in the unique setting of camp is life-affirming, challenges you daily, and builds a solid foundation for growth as a leader in all aspects of life.

As the Water skiing Director, you will lead our very popular water skiing program and assist campers ages 7-17 of all skill levels in building their confidence on the water. Additionally, you will share your expertise with other staff to cultivate a knowledgeable team of activity assistants.

• Lead the water skiing program and assist campers ages 7-17 of all skill levels in building their confidence on the water.
• Share your expertise with other staff to cultivate a knowledgeable team of activity assistants.
• Oversee the overall operation of the water skiing area, including the development and implementation of lesson plans, equipment maintenance, and instruction of the activity including all necessary safety procedures.
• Teach the activity every period and typically manage a small number of staff who are trained in the area.
• Arrive to camp earlier than other staff to complete program-specific training, help with projects to open camp (including activity areas), and collaborate with other program staff to prepare for the season.
• Live with youth in cabins and fulfill cabin expectations complementary to the activity workload.
• Play a major role in the recruitment of campers to the activity area by being available to and interacting with campers of all ages, particularly during meals and by performing skits at all-camp events like campfires.

• Hold certifications in their activity area
• Have instructional experience in their activity area
• For water skiing specifically, have basic boat maintenance experience/knowledge

Camp Lake Hubert is a traditional summer camp for girls, in operation since 1927. Along with our brother camp, Camp Lincoln, we are situated in the Brainerd Lakes Area of Northern Minnesota (145 miles north of Minneapolis). Two of the oldest and most prestigious camps in the Midwest, we are entering our 115th summer of continuous operation. Every summer, we serve 1,200+ campers aged 7 to 17, with 220 staff who all come from across the country and around the world.

Our season runs for 12 weeks, with campers in attendance for 2- and 4-week sessions.
