Wadena-Deer Creek School District is looking for a part time teacher for the REACH program. REACH stands for Relationships, Education, Accountability, Character and Hard Work. Applicants with a background in ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences), (SEL) Social Emotional Learning, Mental Healh, Suicide Prevention and Cultural Competency would be beneficial. In REACH students work on goal setting, relationship building, self-care, communication skills and many other things.
Class sizes are small and are supported by a paraprofessional and the school social worker. Applicants with a background in ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences), (SEL) Social Emotional Learning, Mental Healh, Suicide Prevention and cultural competency would be beneficial. Minimum requirement:
Bachelor's Degree. Teaching degree desired but not required. This is a .5 FTE position paid on the Teacher Master Agreement.

Travel RequirementsTravels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Work ScheduleStandard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers' Unit Contract.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current art instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of art curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Qualifications ProfileCertification/License:
- State Certification as an Art Teacher or as required for position.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree preferred.
Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a plus.
