Location: IHS facility in Ogema, MN, USA
Pay Rate: $50 per hour + $31.15 travel stipends (If applicable)
Schedule: 5-8-hour days ranging between 7:00 am
-4:30 pm
Contract Length: 1 year with option to extend
Benefits:

Job Description:
The Dental Hygienist provides comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health services to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients at the White Earth Health Center, Naytahwaush Health Center, and Pine Point Dental Clinics. This role supports community-based care within an IHS setting and operates under the supervision of the Chief of Dental and staff dentists.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygienist program in the United States
- Active, Dental Hygienist license in any U.S. state
- Current BLS certification
- Documentation of continuing education
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine dental hygiene services including prophylaxis and preventive care
- Plan, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate preventive oral health programs
- Develop and revise patient education materials for various age groups and health conditions
- Administer local anesthesia under direct supervision of a dentist
- Record medical and dental histories and review dietary habits
- Apply caries prevention agents, perform root planning, apply sealants, and desensitize root surfaces
- Take and pour impressions for study casts
- Remove sutures as directed
- Instruct patients in home care therapy and proper oral health practices
- Develop patient treatment plans and ensure appropriate referrals
- Maintain compliance with IHS policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines
