Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are looking for committed Briefing Analysts to contribute regularly to the European Relations Briefings.
As European Relations is a non-profit organisation, all positions are volunteer and unpaid.
What You'll Do:- Monitor news from EU institutions or generally related to Europe.
- Contribute weekly to a briefing with summaries and contextualisation of relevant news and developments related to EU institutions or Europe in general.
- Write in-depth briefings, giving a comprehensive overview of a topic and collect information relevant to stakeholders.
If this sounds like you, we look forward to your application!
What We’re Looking For:- Strong command of English.
- Academic experience in, e.g., European Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, Environmental Sciences or related fields; but you’re equally welcome to apply if you have, for instance, a background in engineering and want to contribute in-depth briefings on Europe’s technological developments.
- A talent for explaining complex subjects clearly to a wider audience.
- Motivation to engage with current topics and debates in Europe.
- You’ll have room to develop your own thematic focus and the flexibility to contribute to both parts of the Briefing Team (Weekly Briefings and In-depth Briefings).
- You don’t need prior publishing experience, just strong writing skills and an interest in monitoring and analytical work.
- Whether you plan to work in research, a think tank, an international organisation, or the private sector, the ability to monitor specific topics and summarise them precisely will always be essential. At European Relations, you can start honing this skill during your studies and gain valuable experience for your future career.
- Gain publishing experience on a growing platform dedicated to European affairs.
Please use the form below to submit your application. If you experience any issues while filling out or submitting the application form, or if you have questions about the position, you can send an email to (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).
Required Documents:- Your CV.
- Proof of English proficiency (e.g., certificate, proof of native-level fluency, or enrollment in/completion of an English-taught degree) is a plus, but not required.
- Certificate of enrollment in at least the second year of a Bachelor's programme, enrollment in a Master’s programme, or a completed degree.
- A (short) writing sample (preferably on a European topic, in a blog or essay style; can also be a university paper).
We value diversity and inclusion and strongly encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of ethnic, cultural, or social origin, gender, age, disability, religion, or sexual orientation.
