Location: Finland

We’re looking for a dedicated Administrative Briefing Analyst to support the coordination, monitoring, and editorial quality of the recently launched European Relations Briefings. This role offers space for your own ideas and the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to European discourse through analytical and editorial work.

As European Relations is a non‑profit organisation, all positions are volunteer and unpaid.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the European Relations Briefing Team and ensure coherence, quality, and accuracy across weekly and in‑depth briefings.
  • Depending on your capacities, contribute your own analytical pieces, providing context and insight into European policy and institutional developments.
  • Assist in internal communication and editorial coordination with the Editor‑in‑Chief.
  • Help develop the Briefing formats.
Qualifications
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) at C1 level or above; a certificate of a language exam or an English‑taught degree can serve as proof.
  • Editorial experience in a journalistic, think‑tank, or academic/university setting.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
  • Academic experience in, for example, European Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, Environmental Sciences or related fields; but you’re equally welcome to apply if you have a background in engineering and want to contribute in‑depth briefings on Europe’s technological developments.
  • Motivation to engage with current topics and debates in Europe.
  • Estimated workload: around 7 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. The role is open to applicants based in Europe or elsewhere, provided that monthly meetings held in European time are feasible.
  • Flexibility to shape the publication formats (Weekly Briefings and In‑depth Briefings) and the work of the Briefing Team.
  • Gain publishing experience on a growing platform dedicated to European affairs.
  • Whether you plan to work in research, a think‑tank, an international organisation, or the private sector, the ability to coordinate a team and develop content strategies for monitoring specific topics will always be essential. At European Relations, you can start honing this skill during your studies and gain valuable experience for your future career.
