About the role

This is not a typical associate, product, or operations role.

As Founder’s Associate, you will work directly with the founder on some of the most ambiguous and high-impact questions facing the company. The purpose of the role is to increase the speed and quality of founder-level decisions by structuring ambiguity, synthesizing signal, and unblocking complex cross-functional work.

You will be exposed to product strategy, technical decision-making, and company-building at close range. The role is intentionally time-bound and designed as a high-learning, high-trust position for exceptional generalists who enjoy thinking clearly in uncertain environments.

What you’ll work on

A core part of the role is exploring unknowns and turning noise into clarity. You will research how best-in-class companies approach comparable product, technical, or organizational problems, pressure-test ideas from first principles, and gather user, market, or internal signal. Your output is never raw research or documentation; it is structured thinking in the form of clear trade‑offs, risks, options, and a reasoned point of view.

You will often be asked to prepare decisions. This means framing complex choices, clarifying what truly matters, identifying missing information or disagreements, and presenting concise recommendations. Final decisions, ownership, and communication remain with the founder. Your role is to sharpen the thinking and accelerate progress, not to replace decision-making.

At times, you will step into ambiguous or stalled initiatives as temporary cross‑team glue. This might involve unblocking a product or technical initiative, clarifying misalignment between engineering and product, or helping turn a vague idea into something with clear ownership and momentum. These engagements are intentionally short‑lived; success means enabling others and stepping back once clarity is restored.

Occasionally, you may act as a founder proxy in selected meetings or conversations. In these cases, your responsibility is to listen carefully, gather context, and follow up where needed, always with the understanding that you are representing the founder. You will report back with synthesis and recommendations, not transcripts or raw notes.

What this role is not

This is not a junior PM role, a project management position, an operations function, or an executive assistant role. You will not own a permanent function, run recurring processes, or act as a long‑term intermediary between teams and the founder. If you are looking for clearly scoped ownership and routine execution, this role is unlikely to be a good fit.

Who this role is for

This role is well suited to exceptional generalists who enjoy working close to the metal and thinking in first principles. You likely have strong product and technical intuition, communicate clearly in writing, and are comfortable operating with incomplete information. Prior experience as a founder, early‑stage startup employee, consultant, or strong operator can be helpful, but curiosity, judgment, and clarity of thought matter more than a specific background.

What success looks like

When this role works well, decisions become clearer and faster, important risks surface earlier, and complex topics are reduced to what actually matters. The founder’s cognitive load is meaningfully reduced, and stalled initiatives regain momentum without creating new layers or dependencies.

Role structure

This position is explicitly time‑bound and capped at three months. It is designed as an intense learning and impact experience, not a permanent role. While exceptional performance may lead to future opportunities, there is no automatic conversion. The primary goal is mutual learning, leverage, and meaningful contribution during the time together.

Join us and build the future. Let’s make something people can’t live without.
