Are you looking to jump‑start your accounting or ag‑business career? Want hands‑on experience supporting real farm operations? PIPESTONE is looking for a motivated Farm Books Accounting Intern to join our team for Summer 2026!
About the OpportunityPipestone Business provides financial services to help today’s family farms become the farms of tomorrow. As a Farm Books Intern, you’ll work directly with our accounting platform and processes to support crop and livestock producers across the region.
What You’ll Do- Gain a thorough understanding of general ledger structure
- Process accounts payable & receivable
- Handle cash receipts and disbursements
- Maintain sales and purchase order systems
- Reconcile asset and liability accounts
- Analyze general ledger activity for accuracy and timeliness
- Assist with period‑end close for internal and external reporting
- Travel with your supervisor to work directly with clients
(Not required, but definitely a plus!)
- Knowledge of pork production
- Familiarity with feed manufacturing
- Understanding of commodity risk management & livestock marketing
- Strong data analysis skills
- 2- or 4-year degree in Accounting or Agricultural Business preferred (not required)
- Experience in livestock or crop production is a plus
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Customer service experience helpful
- Must be detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation to work
