Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant for a full‑time, on‑site role located in Excelsior, MN. This position will oversee comprehensive property accounting functions, including reconciling bank accounts, maintaining accurate general ledger entries, and ensuring all transactions meet Oppidan standards. You prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensure compliance with GAAP and real‑estate‑specific regulations, and work closely with property managers to align financial records with operational activity.

Your responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, supporting budget preparation and forecasting, monitoring variances, and completing annual CAM reconciliations. You also collaborate with stakeholders and vendors, support audit documentation needs, identify opportunities for process improvements, and assist with special projects as required.

Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience
  • Expertise in financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and auditing
  • Experience with tax compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with accounting software, (Yard Breze, Sage Intacct, or comparable platforms)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • Experience in the real estate industry would be advantageous
