Description
This position performs a variety of clerical duties requiring responsible judgement based on knowledge of the principles of accounting. Decisions are made in terms of established policies and procedures with difficult, non-routine, or complex problems being referred to a supervisor. Instructions may be received as new projects are assigned, but the employee will generally work with considerable independence, using discretion and judgment in completing duties.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Finance Director, and is evaluated for accuracy and adherence to standards.
Examples of Duties
Required Qualifications:
- A combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of a two-year degree in Accounting.
- Two years responsible accounting experience.
- One year training or experience in email, spreadsheet, and accounting software programs.
- Three or more years responsible accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- One year training or experience utilizing computerized accounting system.
- Skill in the operation of a computer, using word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
- Ability to make varied arithmetic computations and tabulations rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to coordinate and follow through on work tasks and projects to completion.
