Part-Time Ramp Lead overview: this role provides resources and support for ramp operations, including handling customer baggage, loading/unloading, operating ground service equipment, deicing, marshaling and pushing back aircraft, and supervising load and unload teams during the day.
EssentialRoles and Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Duties of a Ramp Agent may include any of the following:
- Oversee load and unload teams during the day
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and co-mail of various weight and dimensions to and from aircraft and airport baggage areas
- Operate ground service equipment to service the aircraft and its passengers
- Marshal aircraft to and from gates (directing, assisting, and parking arriving, departing, and towed aircraft)
- Communicate with Supervisor and Managers to ensure the efficiency of the operation
- Service aircraft as needed (lavatories, window wash, potable water, deicing)
- Operate heavy, motorized machinery/equipment (tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, pushback tractors, deicers, etc.)
- Lift, load, unload, and transport customer bags and cargo to/from aircraft, bag carts, and conveyor belts
- Stock aircraft and carts with necessary supplies
- Responsible for aircraft security searches as required
- Assist with the transportation of crew members across the airfield
- Check aircraft for leading-edge ice and frost
- Ensure ramp areas are safe and free of Foreign Objects Debris (FOD) and that ground service equipment is maintained
- Follow safety regulations, including proper use of ground service equipment and safety items
- Any other duties assigned by management
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous Ramp Experience (at least six months)
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
- Possess a valid driver s license with the ability to pass a continuous driving records check
- Ability to utilize computers and mobile technology to complete trainings and perform work duties
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to be on a remote location for extended periods of time in outdoor elements
- Pass a post-offer pre-employment background check, including airport security clearance and a fingerprint-based background and criminal history record check required by federal law
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an MSP SIDA badge with a CBP Seal
- Previous Ramp Lead/Supervisor experience
Rate: $18.50 USD per hour, plus $2.00 USD per hour Lead Premium Pay

Work EnvironmentThis job operates outdoors in all kinds of weather, including extreme cold and heat and all kinds of precipitation. While working on the ramp, you ll be exposed to the extreme noise of aircraft arriving and departing.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, and occasionally push/pull up to 300 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an MSP SIDA badge with a CBP Seal.
