Job Title: Material Handler

Reports To: Bindery Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to play a key role in our product logistics and delivery operations. In addition to ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of printed materials to our clients and partners, you will support internal production by transporting materials between our two buildings, pulling materials from racks, and ensuring all items are staged in the correct locations for production workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport printed materials to various locations in a timely manner.
  • Load and unload delivery items, ensuring they are secured and protected during transit.
  • Transport materials between company buildings, ensuring timely movement to support production schedules.
  • Pull materials from racks as needed and stage them appropriately for production using powdered forklift equipment.
  • Ensure all materials are placed in the correct production areas and verify accuracy of placement.
  • Plan and follow optimal delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
  • Maintain delivery logs and complete required paperwork, including invoices and shipping documents.
  • Interact professionally with clients upon delivery, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents to management promptly.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff and other team members to coordinate deliveries, logistics, and internal material movement.
  • Assist in inventory management and tracking of delivered goods as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience driving delivery vehicles, preferably in the print or related industry.
  • Must successfully complete required onsite forklift training.
  • Knowledge of local and regional traffic laws and regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 100 lbs) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
  • Must be able to move freely on foot throughout the plant, stand for sustained periods of time, and perform repetitive pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, and lifting functions.
  • Overtime may be needed at peak times of the year.
