Responsibilities- Follow all safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight, and break periods.
- Responsible for receiving cargo, parking in appropriate docks, tracking mileage, documenting schedules, inventory deliver confirmation, and manifests.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections prior to operating vehicle.
- Perform end of day operation inspection, to include fueling and cleaning vehicle.
- Report on any mechanical issues to manager.
- Plan routes to ensure delivery schedules and arrivals are met on time.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Able to build positive business relationships with customers.
- Able to maintain electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Ensure cargo is loaded, unloaded, and secured properly and safely.
- All other skilled and non-skilled duties assigned by manager and/or supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with two (2) years of professional driving experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Experienced with electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Able to operate 1-ton, 10-ton, 12-ton trucks and standard manual transmission.
- Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Basic Computer Skills
- Shipping/Receiving experience
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and weekends to meet customer service requirements.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds.
- Grasping, pushing, pulling, tightening, adjusting, and fine manipulation of different size objects.
- Able to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed.
- Able to wear all required PPE.
