Duty Managers are responsible for overseeing and directing daily and seasonal field maintenance duties for the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. Under the general direction of a Field Maintenance Operations Manager, they supervise staff, assign duties and hours, and delegate responsibilities. Kinetic collaboration with internal and external stakeholders meets customer needs and upholds MAC’s Purpose and Values.

Work Schedule
  • Day shift – Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Afternoon shift – Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Night shift – Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
  • Weekend days – Saturday to Wednesday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Weekend afternoons – Saturday to Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The current vacancy is on the Night shift. Shifts are bid once per year in the spring, based on seniority.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in airport field maintenance operations or airport management OR five years experience in street maintenance, exterior property maintenance, or general construction.
  • Two years of supervisory experience involving hiring, delegating, coaching, rewarding, and disciplining employees OR a Supervisory Skills Development Program Certificate completed within the last four years.
  • Professional knowledge of safe operation of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills orally and in writing.
  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency.
  • Experience with documentation, scheduling, and correspondence.
  • Strict confidentiality regarding employee information.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies or snow events during off‑hours.
  • Valid MSP AOA driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Desirable Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, public administration, construction management, fleet management, transportation, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of airport maintenance operations (snow removal, concrete and bituminous repair, and general field and fleet maintenance).
  • Knowledge of operational procedures on an airfield.
  • Experience managing company assets and resources.
  • Experience in a supervisory role with union‑represented employees.
  • Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement.
  • Working knowledge of FAR Part 139 and 49 CFR 1540/1542.
  • Training in National Incident Management Systems (NIMS).
