Van Driver role at Ridwell
Join us to help create a future without waste by safely operating company vehicles, completing pickups, and handling materials efficiently in all weather conditions.
Base pay range$22.50/hr - $22.50/hr
Ridwell is a service that inspires people to create a future without waste. We make it easy to reuse and recycle more by identifying recyclable and reusable items that the city doesn’t collect, picking them up from our customers’ doorsteps, and matching them with local partners that can use them sustainably. Schedule
: (4) ten‑hour shifts Monday – Friday, 7:30 am–6:00 pm CST
Wage
: $22.50 per hour with guaranteed tenure‑based wage increases at six months (+$1.25), and at one and two years (+$0.50).

- Safely operate Ridwell high‑roof cargo vans throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
- Complete 125–150 daily stops efficiently and accurately.
- Collect members’ materials from designated bins at their homes.
- Assist with remaining stops after completing your assigned route.
- Navigate routes effectively using the provided smartphone apps.
- Maintain regular communication with the Driver Support team regarding route timing.
- Manage loading and unloading of vehicles efficiently.
- Deliver Ridwell bins and new member kits to members’ homes.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with Ridwell members.
- Work safely outdoors and in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, moisture, and wind.
- Maintain consistent attendance and be reliable when scheduled.
- Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
- Read and follow written or oral instructions in English.
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and lift up to 49 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may apply.
- Own and be able to use a smartphone with Google or Apple maps.
- Communicate effectively digitally via text and email.
- Pass a background and motor vehicle history check if offered the position.
