Overview
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's (MPRB) Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring the facilities and activities at the beaches, water parks, and pools. Lifeguards will communicate and enforce rules/regulations in a personable and professional manner. Working under the direct supervision of the full-time Aquatics staff and the Head Lifeguards, the Lifeguard ensures the safety of patrons in and around the aquatic facilities and follows their training when responding to any incidents.
HoursThis position works 5-25 hours per week, part-time. Varied working hours including 11:30am-8:30pm, Monday-Saturday. Must be able to work entire season and attend in-service trainings (November-May).
ResponsibilitiesMonitor facilities and activities; communicate and enforce rules/regulations; ensure the safety of patrons in and around aquatic facilities; respond to incidents following training and under supervision of Aquatics staff and Head Lifeguards.
Qualifications- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/ First Aid/ CPR/ AED Certification.
- Experience lifeguarding at a pool, beach, or waterpark.
