Geomechanics Software Engineer: MPM
ITASCA International Inc. is a pioneering engineering software developer and consulting firm specializing in geomechanics, hydrogeology, and related fields. We are seeking a Software Engineer to lead the development, testing, and support of a new Material Point Method (MPM) solution, primarily in C++.

Responsibilities- Design and write object‑oriented code for numerical simulations solving geomechanics problems.
- Collaborate with the software development team to develop and maintain ITASCA’s products.
- Communicate with consultants and external clients to understand user needs and develop effective solutions.
- Self‑motivate, think creatively, and solve problems independently.
- Take on additional responsibilities such as testing, technical support, documentation, training, and other non‑programming tasks.
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics, applied mechanics, engineering or related scientific field.
- Proficiency in C++.
- At least two (2) years of experience with scientific programming.
- Experience with source‑control tools.
- Experience with Material Point Method.
- English proficiency.
- ITASCA may provide employment‑based visa sponsorship (e.g., H1‑B, L‑1, TN) subject to business needs and immigration regulations.
- Qt programming experience.
- Experience with writing and debugging multi‑threaded code.
- Experience in large‑scale software development cycles, from requirements to release.
- Experience using ITASCA software.
$80,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and skill set.
