Instructs aquatic exercise and therapy programs. Monitors client progress and makes program changes to facilitate clients’ maximum independence and achieves fitness goals.

Allina Health is looking for a part-time Lifeguard Aquatic Instructor to support Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute Golden Valley. This is a casual (0.0 FTE) position with expectation to work some Saturdays for community swimming lessons. Allina Health is a 501(c)(3) eligible employer and offers Student Loan Support Benefits to navigate the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

• Conduct group and 1:1 aquatic exercise and therapy programs.
• Conduct programs in compliance with governing disciplines.
• Provide 1:1 instruction and hands‑on assistance to clients.
• Monitor client progress and make program changes to facilitate clients’ maximum independence and achieve fitness goals.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Complete documentation, maintain class rosters and client records.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0 to 2 years in teaching aquatics skills.

• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross.
• Allina in‑house BLS training (within 30 days).
• Lifeguard Certification from American Red Cross required within 2 weeks of hire.

• Medium Work*.
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently.

Pay Range: $17.45 to $23.77 per hour.

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
