SCC was founded in 1966 by a handful of concerned community members seeking to address social and economic disparities in underserved communities in the areas of youth programming, housing, health and education. The organization is a major resource hub expanding services within the South Minneapolis community.

Job Description

Sabathani Community Center’s Supervised Visitation Program, funded by Hennepin County, provides court‑ordered supervised visitation services to families involved with Child Protection. The program ensures safe and structured parent‑ contact, incorporates parenting education আৰক্ষ and follows Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) standards.

We are seeking dependable and professional independent abode as wielding contractors to serve as Supervised Visit Monitors within our court‑ordered Supervised Visitation Program.

Monitors observe interactions, document activity and maintain compliance with program and DHS standards, all while managing their own schedules, tax obligations and liability coverage.

Physical duties are consistent with work performed in an office setting. This description provides a general overview of day‑to‑day responsibilities. It does not constitute an employment contract other than an "at‑will" relationship. The Director of Health Equity retains discretion to add duties or change duties at any time.

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to carry out each essential job function satisfactorily.

บัญยา Responsibilities. Visit Facilitation & Safety
  • Facilitate and monitor court‑ordered visits between parents/guardians and children, ensuring a safe, neutral, and structured environment.
  • Provide visits as outlined by the referral source, including limited hands‑on assistance and education in support of family goals.
  • Clearly define the rules of visitation with all parties and intervene or terminate visits when safety or compliance issues arise.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information in compliance with applicable laws and Sabathani standards.
Documentation & Feedback
  • Provide written and verbal feedback to participants regarding conduct and progress, as appropriate.
  • Document family interactions with objective, factual notes after each session.
  • Prepare case notes, reports, and updates that reflect outcomes, challenges, and family progress.
Collaboration & Support
  • Support ongoing assessment of family needs and progress toward case goals.
  • Offer feedback that can assist in developing supportive parenting strategies and case plan goals.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with referring agencies, county staff, and relevant community providers.
  • Provide families with information about resources and supportive opportunities in the community.
  • Actively participate in required program meetings, trainings, and collaborative discussions to strengthen service delivery.

  • Be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, as visit schedules require.
  • In limited cases, assist with scheduling and transportation, as outlined on case plans.
Qualifications Education
  • Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
Experience
  • Prior experience working with families involved Helsing child protection, child welfare, or family court systems strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, trauma‑informed practices, and cultural humility.
  • Strong observation, documentation, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and calm in potentially high‑conflict situations.
