The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The technician can perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a Senior Mobile Diesel Technician or higher, and continues to learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques. A successful technician complies with all company policies and achieves high‑level performance metrics.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
• Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and reconcile inventory on the company‑issued service truck.
• Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
• Work with customers to assess needs, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
• Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations.
• Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.
• Document work according to company standards and upload pictures and findings on Repair Orders using the TRAIT application.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation.
• Work independently, managing daily schedule and maintaining a high level of productivity within standard repair times.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary.
• Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
• Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).

• High School Diploma or GED and 3‑years’ experience in a related field. Candidates with alternative education or 5 years’ experience may also be considered.
• Provide a set of hand tools required for job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Maintain a valid DOT medical card with >4 months of validity, or complete a DOT physical if
