Security Manager, IT Specialist
The Emergency Communications Center within Public Safety (PSECC) has the primary responsibility for the operation and maintenance of security systems.
Under the direction of the 24-hour center management team, this position supports advanced safety and security operations and investigations throughout the University system in the Advanced Real-time Crime and Threat Information Center (ARCTIC). Major responsibilities include supporting response to incidents impacting safety and security, investigating complex security and public safety incidents, disseminating intelligence to first responders in real time, and conducting standardized programming and troubleshooting of systems.

This is a hands‑on position in a 24x7x365, high impact, high performing environment. Work is performed in an office setting weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed with potential for 24‑hour availability.
Minimum Qualifications- Six or more years of any combination of relevant post‑high school education, training, and/or experience.
- Demonstrated technical and problem‑solving aptitude. Experience working with multiple, complex software systems. Ability to self‑initiate and work under minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain MnJIS certification in compliance with NCIC standards.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check after offer is made.
- Bachelor’s degree. 2 years prior experience in a 24/7 security or emergency communications center environment. Knowledge of university geography and operations. Relevant FEMA/NIMS certifications.
