The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) Position in Ag Equipment is one of the best kept secrets in all of Employment. As a TSM your job is to talk to dealership staff (i.e.
- Parts Associates, Parts Managers, Sales Team, Store Manager, Service Department, and of course the most important Administrative Staff) and show them how Our Products can help their current & prospective customers (AKA Farmers & Producers) increase their crop yields, make their customers more money, & increase retention. For the dealer, our products increase their dealership's absorption rate, increase the number of turns in their parts department, & help all departments make more money.
TSMs also attend Trade/Farm Shows in your Region & National Shows; talking to Farmers and the customers that use our products.
This is one of the few jobs where you get to bank your paycheck, because while you're on the road Copperhead Ag pays for your hotel stays, meals, fuel, laptop, cell phone, etc... The position does require at least 75% travel within the assigned states, which is your Area of Responsibility (AOR).
ResponsibilitiesIdentify and target potential customers in the agricultural industry, including farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and equipment dealers. Utilize various channels such as cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events to generate leads.
Develop a deep understanding of Copperhead Ag's products and services, including precision agriculture systems, equipment, and accessories. Effectively present and demonstrate the features, benefits, and competitive advantages of these products to potential customers.
Consult with customers to understand their specific needs, challenges, and goals. Provide tailored solutions and recommendations based on Copperhead Ag's product offerings. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Collaborate with customers to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to close sales deals. Utilize effective sales techniques and strategies to overcome objections and secure commitments from customers.
Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Copperhead Ag's products and their integration with various agricultural equipment and systems. Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding product installation, operation, and maintenance.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' offerings. Conduct market analysis and competitive research to identify potential sales opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and deals closed using the company's CRM system. Generate regular sales reports and forecasts to track performance and provide insights to management.
Coordinate with marketing, product development, and customer support teams to align sales strategies, share customer feedback, and contribute to product improvement initiatives.
Stay current with industry knowledge, trends, and advancements in precision agriculture. Participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance sales skills and technical expertise.
Set and achieve individual and team sales targets and quotas. Monitor progress towards goals and take proactive measures to meet or exceed them.
Be prepared for travel to meet customers, attend industry trade shows, and participate in sales meetings or training sessions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Clean driving record required and valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to travel up to 75% as needed, primarily within the region
- Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office and overall strong computer skills preferred
