Outside Sales Representative
The Sales Representative develops new business by prospecting, cold‑calling and closing; manages and grows a geographical territory of accounts through phone sales, customer visits, account management, customer service and retention strategies.
Core & Essential Functions- Identify potential markets and accounts through studying current trends and needs for growth; research territories and markets; create and compile lists of key potential accounts; analyze opportunities through a solution‑selling approach.

A. J. Weller value to current and potential customers. - Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
- Initiate sales processes through cold‑calling over the phone; build and develop relationships; qualify potential customers and grow existing business within assigned territory.
- Contribute to the company’s outstanding reputation by always putting the customer first; treat other employees with respect and dignity; respond quickly to requests and needs of customers; conduct business with highest integrity.
- Manage territory by graciously handling customer issues that arise by providing solution‑driven sales plans; visit and build relationships with key accounts; call accounts who fall off order averages; retain accounts who are at risk; find key decision makers.
- Provide consistent, concise, accurate internal and external communications.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the industry by staying educated on new regulations, product solution changes, innovations, and trends.
- Travel by car to see customers in person.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Must possess 1–2 years of relevant sales experience. Possession of at least a high‑school diploma and a post‑secondary degree is required. Must possess an “entrepreneurial” and a “service‑first” mindset. Demonstrated aptitude for taking charge and solving problems; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach). Must possess strong mechanical aptitude. Having the ability to read a tape measure and drawings is a plus.
Must be results‑orientated and able to work both independently and cooperatively within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess proficient reporting skills and have meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact‑management software. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to travel to client meetings.
