National Account Manager at Big Iron

Big Iron is looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join our team. The National Account Manager is responsible for developing and growing designated National Accounts within targeted and approved business sectors, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), financial services companies, global and U.S.

-based agribusinesses, and national or multi-regional cooperatives. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong, long‑term relationships that generate recurring auction consignments and a consistent pipeline of equipment inventory to support Big Iron’s marketplace and revenue growth.

The ideal candidate has extensive verifiable experience in national or multi‑regional sales, preferably within complex sales environments, of targeted industrial sectors. A displayed business acumen and understanding of fleet management, asset turnover, and equipment disposition cycles. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills, as well as a balanced hunter/farmer business approach to consistently drive new business and deliver results for new account growth while retaining high percentages of existing account business each year.

What

You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute national account sales strategies to acquire new customers and grow revenue within assigned industries and/or territories
  • Own and manage relationships with designated national and strategic accounts, serving as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers and influencers
  • Create and execute annual account plans, including revenue targets aligned with company budgets and supported by the Director of National Accounts
  • Drive profitable growth through new account signings, annual agreements, and incremental expansion of existing accounts
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, contract, and account data using company CRM tools and reporting systems
  • Partner closely with internal teams and regional sales leaders to support account success, close business, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Prospect systematically within targeted industries to maintain a healthy, forward‑looking pipeline—because auctions breed auctions
  • Represent Big Iron at national and regional trade shows, industry events, and professional associations
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive trends, and account performance to inform pricing and growth strategies
  • Provide regular pipeline and forecast updates to leadership and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using data and analytics
Who You Are
  • A strategic, consultative seller with strong business acumen and the ability to navigate complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles
  • Comfortable balancing new business development with long‑term relationship management
  • Financially and analytically minded, using data to guide decisions and strategies
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to influence cross‑functional and multi‑state teams
  • Self‑directed and effective working remotely in a home‑office environment
  • Trusted, ethical, and customer‑focused in all interactions
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of B2B personal production sales experience with a proven record of exceeding targets
  • 5+ years of preferred or strategic account sales experience, including national or multi‑regional accounts
  • Experience negotiating terms, managing deal pipelines, and executing account growth strategies
  • Prior success selling within industrial, agricultural, transportation, financial services, or related markets
  • Experience with contract‑based account development and retention is a plus
  • Industry knowledge of capital equipment, fleet assets, and/or related financial services strongly preferred
  • Strong financial, pricing, and data analysis skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and CRM systems
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Ability to travel extensively (50–75%)
