Our helpful staff is trained to provide excellent customer service in a fun, friendly, and clean shopping environment.
The Assistant Store Manager works with the Store Manager to support the daily operations of the store. This role helps lead the team, support volunteers, and ensure a positive experience for shoppers and donors.
Responsibilities- Ensuring Arc’s Value Village team members provide excellent service to all guests
- Supporting the store in meeting established financial and sales goals
- Training and supporting team members to meet hourly, daily, and weekly production goals and team standards
- Coaching and mentoring staff to support strong performance and growth
- Modeling The Arc Minnesota values of Human and Civil Rights, Self-Advocacy and Self-Direction, Equity and Belonging, and Disability and Racial Justice
- Starting salary: $50,000 annually

- Provide excellent service to shoppers, donors, and volunteers and address questions or concerns in a respectful and timely manner
- Supervise, coach, and support staff and volunteers to meet performance expectations and production goals
- Help the store meet sales, production, and profitability goals
- Support hiring, training, and development of staff and volunteers
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback and performance reviews
- Ensure accurate communication of Value Village and The Arc Minnesota policies and procedures
- Oversee donation intake and maintain an efficient flow of items from the donor door to the production area
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and well‑stocked store environment
- Follow financial procedures, internal controls, and loss prevention practices
- Participate in leadership meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives, including required diversity and harassment prevention trainings
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred;
High School Diploma or GED required - 1–3 years of retail management or related leadership experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, donors, volunteers, and team members
- Basic proficiency with common workplace technology (Microsoft Office or similar tools)
- Ability to assist with moving merchandise and donations, which may include items weighing up to 30–50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to carry out the responsibilities of the role in a retail store environment, which may include moving throughout the store and assisting with merchandise, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including varied hours or days based on store operations
