Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

Join our team as a Shortage Control Associate and contribute to a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), your role directly impacts store security and the overall shopping experience. By exhibiting command presence, knowledge of theft trends, and a positive impression of control, you will mitigate theft and create a safe environment. You will engage with customers and associates, maintain a confident, friendly, energetic greeting with eye contact and a smile, and monitor entrances and key areas to reduce theft opportunities.

• Maintain a professional appearance, wear designated attire, radio and earpiece.
• Position at store front, remain vigilant.
• Greet every customer with a warm smile and loud, friendly greeting.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates.
• Effectively communicate theft prevention information during store rallies.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs.
• Model safety and address unsafe practices promptly.
• Identify and report theft incidents to Manager on Duty.

• 1+ year experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand, walk for extended periods and visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to analyze business trends.
• Positive demeanor, strong posture, energetic greeting.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with disciplined decision making.
• Excellent communication with customers and co‑workers.
• Leadership skills to foster productive business relationships.

Candidates must work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
