About the Position
Join North Memorial Health as a Locum NP/PA in Trauma Surgery and make a vital impact in patient care across Robbinsdale, MN. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your trauma and critical care expertise in a fast-paced hospital environment. As a key provider, you'll deliver critical services, perform essential procedures, and collaborate with experienced trauma surgeons to provide seamless, high-quality care for patients ranging from pediatrics to adults.

This role is ideal for those seeking flexible, impactful work in a supportive setting, with the chance to sharpen their skills within a Level I trauma center.

Required Skills:

Valid NP or PA license and certification in Minnesota or ability to obtain licensure promptly

Proven experience in trauma hospitalist rounding, emergency assessments, and procedures

Strong skills in vent management, chest tube insertion, central and arterial line placement, and suturing minor lacerations

Ability to respond swiftly to trauma alerts and manage multiple patient cases efficiently

Excellent documentation skills using EPICT or similar EMR systems

Ability to work independently with supervision available from trauma surgeons

Nice to Have

Skills:

Experience with surgical and trauma critical care

Familiarity with pediatric trauma care

Proficiency in non-invasive ventilation management (BiPAP/CPAP)

Prior work in Level I trauma centers or emergency settings

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies

Minimum of 2 years experience in trauma or emergency care settings

Prior experience in a high-acuity critical care environment

Other Requirements:

In-house coverage only—no call obligations

Ability to work full-time from May to July, with flexible scheduling options

Travel reimbursements are limited to mileage only; licensure, credentialing costs, and application fees are not reimbursed

Must be prepared to respond to trauma alerts, facilitate discharges, oversee ED admissions, and perform daily patient rounding

Provider will work autonomously but under the supervision of a dedicated trauma surgeon 24/7
