Assistant Nurse Manager

The National Tele-Critical Care Program is recruiting for an Assistant Nurse Manager. There is one vacancy for this position and will be located in their Sub/Hub locations in Gainesville, Florida;
Minneapolis, Minnesota;
Hines, Illinois; or Smyrna, Georgia.

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

This position requires demonstration of sound decision-making and judgement, and posses excellent interpersonal skills. They are self-directed and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives. This position will support the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibilities and accountability for the 24/7 operation of the their designated units. They will provide coverage for other ANM as needed.

The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, evaluation of individual staff performance. They function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. They influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. The ANM engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth.

They adhere to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. They equip staff with tools for culturally competent care and promote a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. They cultivate alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence. The ANM contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
