Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit – Fairview Health Services

Schedule:

0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). 12‑hour night shift and work every third weekend.

Location:

M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank Campus. Dedicated to delivering exceptional health care through innovation, technology, and balancing patients’ needs.

The 10‑bed ICU delivers care to critically ill adults, including respiratory failure, sepsis, overdose/withdrawal, and post‑operative surgical patients. The RN will perform close observation, hemodynamic monitoring, medication management, bedside procedures, and respiratory support, communicating effectively with the care team and families.

• Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes;
• Develop an individualized nursing plan of care;
• Implement interventions based on the plan of care during treatment;
• Evaluate patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;
• Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
• Coordinate care with health‑care team members and delegate responsibilities as appropriate;
• Apply standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
• Promote a culture of evidence‑based practice by participating in available opportunities;
• Perform responsibilities in accordance with all policies, procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

• 2 years Med/Surg RN experience;
• MN RN license;
• BLS required.

• 2 years IMC experience;
• BSN or higher preferred;
• Certification in a related specialty is highly desired;
• Certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or a related specialty is highly preferred.

The posted compensation range reflects the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in the union agreement at the time of posting. Individual pay may vary based on FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience.
