Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit – Fairview Health Services
Schedule:
0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). 12‑hour night shift and work every third weekend.
Location:
M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank Campus. Dedicated to delivering exceptional health care through innovation, technology, and balancing patients’ needs.
The 10‑bed ICU delivers care to critically ill adults, including respiratory failure, sepsis, overdose/withdrawal, and post‑operative surgical patients. The RN will perform close observation, hemodynamic monitoring, medication management, bedside procedures, and respiratory support, communicating effectively with the care team and families.
Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes;
- Develop an individualized nursing plan of care;
- Implement interventions based on the plan of care during treatment;
- Evaluate patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;
- Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
- Coordinate care with health‑care team members and delegate responsibilities as appropriate;
- Apply standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
- Promote a culture of evidence‑based practice by participating in available opportunities;
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with all policies, procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
- 2 years Med/Surg RN experience;
- MN RN license;
- BLS required.
- 2 years IMC experience;
- BSN or higher preferred;
- Certification in a related specialty is highly desired;
- Certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or a related specialty is highly preferred.
