Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Adult Med/Surg Float Pool at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN.

The Adult Med/Surg Float Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions. This department is a specialty group comprised of dedicated nurses that support patient care throughout the hospital.

Schedule & Benefits

Schedule: This position will work 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length is 12 hours on the night shift with an every third weekend rotation (F, S, S) and a holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

The RN is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations. This includes performing responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

  • Conducting ongoing assessments as determined by patient condition or hospital policies and prioritizing care accordingly.
  • Establishing and implementing nursing care plans through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.

  • Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
  • 1 year of Telemetry Experience
  • 1 year of Peripheral IV start experience
  • 1 year of Emergency Department, Intermediate, or Progressive Care Unit Experience
