Position: Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

We have a full-time (1.0 FTE) opening for a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia care to trauma, surgical, medical, pediatric, obstetric patients, as well as several NORA sites.

We offer a flexible schedule. CRNA’s typically work an 8-, 10- or 12‑hour day shift and are also scheduled for 16- and 24‑hour call shifts. HHS offers a comprehensive benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides pre‑anesthesia care, including patient interview and examination, obtaining necessary tests, administering pre‑anesthetic medications and fluids, and documenting the pre‑anesthetic record.
  • Provides anesthesia care, including preparation of medications, supplies and equipment, respiratory care of patients, administration of anesthetics and additional medications, intravenous fluids and blood products, continual evaluation of patient oxygenation, ventilation, circulation, temperature and other relevant physiologic and pharmacologic parameters, and anesthetic depth; maintains proper patient positioning during the anesthetic; completes documentation of patient management on the anesthetic record; and institutes appropriate monitoring.

    A qualified anesthetist shall be present throughout the conduct of all anesthetics.
  • Provides post‑anesthesia care, including assistance in the post‑anesthesia care unit and follow‑up of patients receiving anesthetic care.
  • Continually evaluates and treats patients with monitoring and support appropriate to the patient’s condition during transport.
  • Assists in pain management.
  • Responds to emergency situations by providing airway and respiratory management, administration of emergency medications and fluids, and using advanced cardiac life support techniques.
  • Prepares, maintains and operates anesthesia equipment.
  • Precepting students.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Promotes effective working relations and works collaboratively as part of a department/unit team interdepartmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Possession of a valid Minnesota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License (or eligibility).
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS certification.

CRNA’s at Hennepin Healthcare are paid an hourly rate coinciding with years since licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider as follows:

  • Tier 1: 0‑2 years = $123/hr
  • Tier 2: 3‑6 years = $130/hr
  • Tier 3: 7+ years = $137/hr

hourly rate listed below represents current rate - which will increase every April.
