Hennepin Healthcare has a full‑time (1.0 FTE) opening for a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia care to trauma, surgical, medical, pediatric, obstetric patients, as well as several NORA sites. We offer a flexible schedule; CRNA’s typically work an 8, 10, or 12‑hour day shift and are also scheduled for 16‑ and 24‑hour call shifts. HHS offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities
  • Provides pre‑anesthesia care, including interviewing and examining patients, obtaining necessary tests, and administering pre‑anesthetic medications and fluids with documentation on the pre‑anesthetic record.
  • Provides anesthesia care: prepares medications, supplies, and equipment; administers anesthetics and additional medications, IV fluids, blood products; continuously evaluates oxygenation, ventilation, circulation, temperature, and anesthetic depth; maintains proper patient positioning; documents patient management; institutes appropriate monitoring; and remains present throughout all anesthetics.
  • Provides post‑anesthesia care, assisting in the post‑anesthesia care unit and following up on patients receiving anesthesia care.
  • Continually evaluates and treats patients with monitoring and support during transport.
  • Assists in pain management.
  • Responds to emergency situations by providing airway and respiratory management, administering emergency medications and fluids, and using advanced cardiac life support techniques.
  • Prepares, maintains, and operates anesthesia equipment.
  • Precepts students.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Promotes effective working relations and collaborates as part of a department/unit team interdepartmentally to facilitate departmental goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Possession of a valid Minnesota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License (or eligibility).
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS certification.
Compensation

CRNA’s at Hennepin Healthcare are paid an hourly rate that increments with years of licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider:

  • Tier 1 (0‑2 years): $123 /hr
  • Tier 2 (3‑6 years): $130 /hr
  • Tier 3 (7+ years): $137 /hr
